They make burgers the way they're supposed to be made! Definitely come hungry, you won't know when to quit!!!
Place has Awesome Burgers.. Fancy Fries are Ok.. but the burgers make the drive worth it
Just so so. Nothing to write home about.
Love the burgers and fries and the outdoor seating. Service was good and employees were very polite.
Best burgers and always ready to go back!
Place is dirty just look at the counter.Spraying cleaner over grill while cooking food 2 burgers one small fries and 2 small drinks 22.00 Will never eat there again the truck stop up the street has better food for less money.)
Burger patties were magnificente' and cajun fries were the BOMB
Good bugar but way too much smoke
Slow service but worth the wait, fresh ingredients on sandwich which was a plus
One of the best burgers I've ever had.
Air conditioner was broken and no fans, 89 degrees. Fries over cooked burger and BLT overpriced for quality. Needs cleaned better. Never will eat there again.
Had a double burger, wife a single w/classic fries. Very tasty, outside dining with Umbrellas. Definitely worth going & Bluebell Ice Cream!
Great place for a burger and fries! Friendly staff and good atmosphere. 100 times better than red Robin's for sure!
Great burgers, love the fries! I love the fry sauce! And if you love ice cream or shakes, this is the place for that too!
Hand made burgers! Very good. Worth the short drive (less than a mile) off the highway!
Hornet Burger was amazingly delicious! The only complaint I can think of is the time lapse waiting.. Must try! Yummy!
Great fresh burgers. Cute little Diner and an amazing town. The hornet burger was off the hook! Carmalized onions, pepperjack cheese and jalapenos. Not to mention their Cajun fries and fry sauce! Every chance we get We make a trip 45 minutes to grab a burger it's that good! The kids all have their own favorites but you have to check out the hornet burger and Cajun fries if you are in the area!
My experience at this place would be 2 stars out of 5. The food was amazing. But the service is absolutely outrageous. I waited on my food for 45 minutes and the several customers behind me had received their food before me. I had quite the small order aswell.
The Patty melt was delicious! It was well worth the visit! Not a huge menu, but well done!
They make the best burgers!!! Grilled onions, banana peppers, Cajun fries and fry sauce Manna from Hamilton
Awesome local burger place with icecream!!
Great food!! The wait time can be a little long, but is worth it! This is a small establishment, with great food! Be prepared to wait a bit, and you won’t be disappointed. The burgers are really good and the shakes are fantastic! I recommend the BLTs too if your not in the mood for a burger. As with all things in Hamilton, when a tour bus pulls in be patient and recognize that everyone working in the restaurants may be a little overwhelmed in keeping up with the rush. If you enjoy a good burger, fries and shake you won’t be disappointed!
Drove 3 hours to Hamilton, to take my Wife to Missouri Star quilt, and to try J's Burger dive. We both had the Hornet Burger, she had the Ranch fries, I had the cajun fries. What an excellent surprise. Grill charred burger ,meat to condiment ratio spot on, and the buttered toasted bun, crazy good. The fries begged not to have any dip. A Dinner? A Dive. A little both. We'll be back.
Here is a picture of the menu. Hamburgers are delicious! Also a fan of the grilled cheese, when you order your fries make sure to ask about the fry sauce!
Burger was great. Fries were a bit salty.
Great burger spot in small town America.
Little menu but great taste
The hamburgers were delicious, the fries crispy, just as I like them. The vanilla shake was unremarkable--a little disappointing.
This is the best place you can get burgers. They are fresh and delicious. Come by as soon as possible and try the best meal of your life. The pepole that work there are so incredabley nice and they always get your order right. I love this place it is so AMAZING!
No one told me that I didn't have to dive into the table to get my burger. Sorry guys.
Food quality was good, I had the single burger with the Cajun fries which was very satisfying. A little on the expensive side coming in at roughly $5.49 for the burger add $2.49 for the regular size fries and then an additional $2.49 for a drink. The menu had a section of speciality burgers but no description as to what they were, which could be helpful. Also creating meal combos could help with the pricing. The eating area is a little small and today every table indoors was filled and with it being in the colder part of the year eating at an outdoor table wasn't to appealing. All in all it was a good lunch and if the pricing was lower it would get 5 stars from me easy.
Fresh made burger and hand cut fries, delicious and less expensive than a fast food chain. Will go again when in the area.
Great little burger dive. Fresh burger on flat grill gets those nice caramelized edges. Fresh cut fries and ice cream too. Friendly staff and very reasonable prices.
#LetsGuide familyfriendly My son orders his burgers specific with cooked pickles and they were great. There are also different flavors of French fries. The tea was fresh and the shakes were delicious. It was a busy night, but I noticed this family business has some hard workers! I would return on a visit.
Big patio with umbrellas to sit at while you eat and visit Hamiltons great shops. Fresh homemade fries, shakes, ice cream... I love the Patty Melt!! Beautiful murals seen from the patio.
My wife and I stopped in driving through town and enjoyed our burgers! Very cool little restaurant with outdoor patios. The food is well worth it in the service was great
The fries were cold, and they used a slice of cheap cheese on them - it was hardly even melted. The grilled cheese was just a hamburger bun pressed down with a slice or two of the same cheese. The entire meal was almost $10. I used to really enjoy J's, but lately it's been subpar.
Absolutely one of the best burgers I've ever had. We were on a road trip and headed to the golden arches when J's sign caught my eye. So glad we did! Husband had a double with everything but peppers and I had a single the same way. We split a regular fry. The only bad part of our whole experience was realizing this would be our only time here. Wanted a shake but we were too full. The're made with real ice.
Only 30 mins for lunch; I went in with 2 others who received their orders within 15 mins. After 23 Minutes I ASKED why I had not yet received my patty melt. The blonde cashier walked to the cook then came back, "It will be ready in a few minutes." I asked for a refund! She said, "Oh, we can make your sandwich." If you could make my sandwich WHY wasn't it made, already???? I have only 30 MINUTES for lunch. She still charged me $2.50 for the small drink I ordered; no apologies, no "I'm sorry, have the drink on us". Poor customer service!
Very good hamburgers with a variety of toppings, regular and flavored fries and milkshakes.
good place, great burger needs to have less smoke inside
Great food! If you're a fan of spicy food, the Hornet Burger and Hornet Fries are awesome!
Nice relaxing when I went. Garlic fries are on point. Honestly didn't think I was gonna get full on the hornet Burger but if I'm ever back in the area I will be stopping again. Food was great and I left full
Delicious burger and fries. Great customer care.
It's a dive worth the drive! I had burger called the Hornet. Two hand-formed beef patties with a bit of seasoning, sliced jalapeño peppers, pepper jack cheese, and (maybe) a little sauce--but not much if any no ketchup or mustard, maybe a little mayonnaise. The flavor was from the meat and fixens. The bun was a flattened and toasted kaiser roll that held the sandwich together without slippage, in spite of the juicy burger. Face it. I love a good grease-burger.Service was fast, table was rocking with every change in position, floor and tables needed a bit of tender care. I didn't try the unisex restroom, some did and I heard no complaints. But J's has been a fixture in town for years and folks may give them a bye on neatness. I did, and I'm not a regular. First trip for me. My wife expects cleanliness even in a dive, so she wasn't quite as forgiving as me, and I don't blame her a bit. But I I tend on taking the 15 MI ute drive again soon for another.
This was surprisingly good for being in Hamilton Missouri. I really enjoyed my food here. The hornet burger and Patty melt were both excellent and the french fries are fantastic. I would recommend eating here but you probably will cause you are in Hamilton Missouri and you really don't have a choice. Could be worse.
I love their cheese burgers. Flame grilled mouth watering sandwiches and fries. They have hand made milk shakes.
Nice place. Friendly staff.
The BEST burger joint. Very good burger and fries, and the pricing is extremely competitive. (The gelato next door is pretty darned good, too.)
Excellent burger and friendly staff. The only reason it’s not 5 stars is that it was pretty smoky in the joint as they cooked. They did open the back door, it helped, but not a ton. I personally have asthma and my MIL was on the mend from bronchitis. So it was uncomfortable. I had the patty melt sans onions. Seasoned and cooked well. The combination of American and Swiss cheeses was wonderful.
